Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What starts a box's lifecycle in Boxycle?

The operational lifecycle begins when the required finished products are packed, the box is closed, and its unique Box Label ID/barcode is assigned. Its initial tracked status is PACKED.

Does Boxycle track both status and physical location?

Yes. The box's operational status and its physical location are maintained independently, so teams can distinguish where a box is from whether it is available, allocated, picked or staged.

Can any user change a box status?

No. Status transitions are authorized by role and current state. The server validates the user, permitted operation and lifecycle prerequisites before accepting the transition.

Is there a complete movement history?

Yes. Each accepted transition creates an append-only movement event containing the box, event, status/location change, role, actor and time.
